Spring is a fantastic time to enjoy our Lake District photography tour. With fresh colours, peaceful water reflections, and great lighting opportunities, there’s plenty to get excited about for landscape photography! This four-day photography tour will take you to some of the most scenic and varied spots in the southern and central areas of the national park.
This four day tour builds on our sold out 2025 Lake District workshop, expanded into a longer and more immersive experience.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or have years of experience, this tour is a chance to explore, learn, and enjoy your photography alongside like-minded people. Myself (Henry) and Ian will be there throughout to help, offer advice, and make sure you get the best out of each location.
What to Expect
Small Group Size: We’re keeping the group to 8 people so everyone gets the time and guidance they need.
Plenty of Time: We will be out for around 7 hours each day, finishing up around sunset
Varied Locations: Over the four days, we’ll visit locations like Holme Fell, Kelly Hall Tarn, Hodge Close Quarry, Rydal Water, Loughrigg Fell, and Penny Rock Wood. We’ve also got a flexible list of backup spots, so we can adjust the plan based on the weather and lighting conditions on the day.
Friendly Guidance: We’ll focus on practical help with things like composition, using light to your advantage, and getting to grips with camera settings. We want to make sure the experience suits you the best we can!
Flexible Itinerary: Day one will start at 13:45, beginning near Coniston, and finish at sunset to make the most of the best light. We’ll take a break halfway through for food, so bring a packed lunch or join us at a nearby café (location allowing). Throughout the 4 days, we will visit various Lake District photography locations.

Equipment and Fitness
Camera Gear: Bring your camera, memory cards, and a selection of lenses. The more variety you can manage, the better, but keep it practical—you’ll be carrying everything with you. A tripod and any filters you use regularly are also recommended. If you don’t have filters or a tripod but want to try using them, let us know in advance, and we can bring some for you to borrow.
Outdoor Clothing: Sturdy boots and proper outdoor gear are essential. Waterproofs, layers, gloves, and a hat will keep you comfortable in all weather conditions.
Fitness: A good level of fitness is essential to get the most out of this tour. While we won’t be tackling anything extreme, expect to walk up to 2-3 hours at a time on uneven and sometimes steep terrain. For example, some locations may involve ascending or descending steps and rough paths. If you have any concerns about your fitness, please contact us before booking to discuss.
