This first issue takes you deep into the Norwegian fjords. A mix of photographs, stories and reflections from a family trip that turned into a photography adventure. From calm coastlines to towering cliffs and glacier-fed lakes, it’s a journey through light, weather and scale. It’s personal, honest and full of the small details that make photography so rewarding.
What is this?
Field Notes: Issue 1 is a digital photography zine. It is a self-published collection of photographs, stories and reflections. Think of it as a mix between a photo book and a travel diary. It’s designed to be read on your phone, tablet or laptop.
What’s inside?
30 pages of photography and writing from my time in the Norwegian fjords. A mix of big landscapes, quiet details and personal thoughts from the trip. You will also find camera settings and notes throughout, giving you a behind the scenes look at how the images were made.
Why a zine?
I only really share my images on YouTube now, but a zine lets me slow down and show a fuller story. It’s a way to gather the images that don’t always make it to YouTube and present them with the context they deserve.
Can I print it?
Yes! The zine is designed in A5 size, which makes it easy to print at home or with a local printer. If you only have an A4 printer, you can still print it in two ways. The simplest is to select “print two pages per sheet” and it will scale to A5 automatically. Or, if you prefer larger pages, you can print it full size on A4 paper in portrait orientation which gives a clean layout with a white border around each page. Either way, it will look great if you would like a physical copy to flick through.
