Buttermere

Buttermere is an amazing spot for photography, and it’s packed with variety. The lake itself is stunning, and the famous lone tree on the northern shore is a classic subject for any photographer. Nearby, you’ve got the Newlands Pass and Honister Pass, both offering incredible views and plenty of opportunities for photos. If you’re up for a walk, Haystacks—Alfred Wainwright’s favourite fell—is well worth the effort, as is Fleetwith Pike, which gives you brilliant views right over the valley. Warnscale Bothy is also nearby and is one of the most iconic photography locations in the whole of the Lake District. With Buttermere village as a base, it’s easy to spend an entire day exploring and photographing this incredible area.
